LAHORE: As part of her attempts to protect expats from fraud, Punjab’s first female Chief Minister, Maryam Nawaz, announced on Friday the introduction of a property transfer service for Pakistanis living outside.
The chief minister made the remarks while presiding over a special meeting of the Punjab Board of Revenue (BoR) on reform.
The Pakistani diaspora would have access to property transfer services such as mutation, e-filing, and land registration.
CM Maryam directed that the service be launched as soon as possible for Pakistanis living in the United States (US), the United Kingdom (UK), Saudi Arabia, and other Gulf countries.
She demanded that the property transfer services for the Pakistani diaspora be completed on time, and she requested a record of the province’s government land.
During the meeting, the newly elected chief minister was updated on the status of the Punjab Land Record Authority.
Maryam directed that modest gyms and parks be built along the roadway on government land. She also ordered the establishment of land facilitation centers in each district.
The gathering was informed that land facilitation facilities would be established in 11 divisions by June 30. The attendees were also notified that the land records for 5,798 Mauza would be available online until December 2024.
