Wednesday saw a significant decline in gold prices in Pakistan for the second day in a row. The cost per tola fell by Rs1,400, finishing at Rs260,100, in line with a decline in prices on the global market.
The All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) reports that the cost of 10 grams of 24-karat gold dropped by Rs1,200, to Rs222,994.
The worldwide gold market, however, also experienced a declining trend. According to the PGJSA, the price of gold dropped by $17 throughout the trading day to $2,481 an ounce internationally.
After a protracted period, the price of silver in the local market also suffered a significant decline, falling by Rs50 to Rs2,900 a tola.
