Governor Kundi also laments protracted power outages in KP, following Chief Minister Gandapur.

Loadshedding in province couldn't be reduced despite all meetings, says Faisal Karim Kundi

Following his political competitor, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has also voiced his displeasure over the ongoing, hourly power outages that continue to plague the province’s residents.

Temperatures are rising nationwide as the consequences of climate change become more apparent. As a result, power outages have become more regular and prolonged in some places, sparking demonstrations back-to-back with instances of the province’s northwest being forced to restore power.

The protracted loadshedding in KP has caused a breach between the federal and provincial administrations as Chief Minister Gandapur keeps criticizing and threatening the Centre for not prioritizing the problem’s resolution.

But Kundi also acknowledged that despite every meeting addressing the issue, loadshedding in the province couldn’t be decreased.

The KP governor, who also serves as the PPP’s central information secretary, stated on Monday that he anticipated a decrease in power outages following the chief minister’s meeting with federal Energy Minister Awais Leghari and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

“The loadshedding couldn’t be reduced despite all the meetings,” claimed Kundi.

Gandapur, a prominent member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), is the target of the governor, who declared that he wanted the CM to announce a 12-hour load shedding length, but he wanted it reduced to six hours.

He urged Gandapur to follow the 12-hour load-shedding timetable rather than restoring the electricity supply by force.
