The government and JUI-F president Maulana Fazlur Rehman, according to PML-N senator Irfan Siddiqui, have decided to postpone making a decision on the constitutional modifications that have caused a stir in the nation’s politics for a few more days.
The seasoned lawmaker told the journalists outside the Senate that Maulana Fazlur Rehman had not asked for more time to decide whether or not to endorse the revisions, saying he had merely stated that the recommendations needed to be carefully considered.
The Maulana said he agreed with several parts of the modifications in principle but that since he had to answer to the people, he would prefer to examine the specifics personally.
