A story with hundreds of interactions on X, formerly Twitter, says that the Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital’s bank accounts have been frozen, making it difficult for hospital workers to treat patients.
The allegation is false.
claiming “Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre is unable to treat cancer patients as Pakistani authorities have frozen its accounts,” said a user on the fourteenth of February.
To date, the post has received over 85,000 views and approximately 5,000 reposts.

Fact
The Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre’s bank accounts in the country have not been frozen as of yet, according to the hospital’s administration.
“All of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust’s bank accounts are operating normally,” Hammad Butt, the Hospital’s chief financial officer, informed Geo Fact Check via messages. “We have not received any notification from any bank or other regulatory authorities regarding the ‘freezing’ of bank accounts.”
Dr. Faisal Sultan, CEO of Shaukat Khanum Hospital, confirmed this. “The bank accounts are functional,” he stated over the phone. “Claims about them being ‘frozen’ are incorrect.”
