Tensions between the cricketing organization and Pakistan have escalated when the International Cricket Council (ICC) formally rejected the PCB’s (Pakistan Cricket Board) request to have match referee Andy Pycroft removed from the current Asia Cup 2025, according to reports.
PCB’s request is denied by ICC
They claimed that the PCB’s plea to replace Pycroft was officially denied by the ICC on Tuesday. The PCB had been informed of the decision the day before, and an official letter had verified it. According to sources, if the PCB’s demand is not fulfilled, Pakistan would not participate in the Asia Cup.
During Pakistan’s match against India in the group stage, Pycroft was charged by the PCB of breaking the ICC Code of Conduct and the Spirit of Cricket.
