SLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been ordered by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to get a special location for its demonstration and to put an end to any unlawful protests in the federal capital that could cause a lockdown or disturb the peace during the SCO summit.
The directions were granted by IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq through a three-page judgment on Saturday after hearing the case submitted by Traders Welfare Association President Raja Hassan Akhtar, who sought the court’s order to suspend the major opposition party’s protest in Islamabad.
Islamabad’s law and order situation is still unstable as the party created by Imran Khan attempted to demonstrate at D-Chowk in the face of Section 144’s implementation, which prohibits political activity and assemblies.
