In his Saturday night hosting debut, comedian Shane Gillis talked about getting fired from “Saturday Night Live” in 2019 and made a joke, telling the audience, “please don’t Google that.”
He acknowledged that many people in the crowd would not be familiar with him when he said, “Yeah, I’m here.” “I was fired from this show a while ago, but don’t look that up, please.”
“Please don’t Google that if you don’t know who I am,” he said. It’s alright. Never even consider it a concern.
In February of this year, Gillis’s announcement that he would be hosting “Saturday Night Live” came after he was sacked in 2019 due to remarks he made during a podcast that caused controversy.
