RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Army’s media wing claimed in a statement that two soldiers, including a captain, accepted martyrdom on Sunday during an intelligence-based operation carried out by the security forces in the Hassan Khel region of the Peshawar district.
The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) released a statement stating that the operation was started due to the “reported presence of terrorists” in the area.
It further stated that the military “effectively engaged” with the terrorists throughout the operation, killing five of them and wounding three more.
But in the midst of a fierce firefight, Captain Hussain Jahangir, a 25-year-old native of Rahim Yar Khan District, and Havildar Shafiq Ullah, a 36-year-old native of District Karak, led their troops from the front.
