The 33-year-old, who played as a winger for Mansfield Town and Coventry City in the past, finished his 34th marathon in 34 days on Tuesday.
Over the course of three months, Cain will run, cycle, and kayak across Britain three times from top to bottom.
Should he succeed in his quest, he will hold the world record for that particular achievement. It is believed that this is the first effort at it.
For Cain, the challenge hasn’t just been physically demanding. He claimed it was “tough” that he began running on his daughter’s death anniversary.
From John O’Groats, where he completed the first part of his accomplishment, he told News, “[I] ran through the anniversary of us laying her to rest as well.”
“That just really signifies why I’m doing this.”
When Azaylia was eight weeks old, a cancer diagnosis was made. She received a successful bone marrow transplant, but in April 2021 she passed away.
