RAWALPINDI: The military’s media wing claimed in a statement on Wednesday that two army commanders and nine troops accepted martyrdom during an intelligence-based operation against terrorists supported by India in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Orakzai area.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on the night between October 7-8, security forces conducted an IBO in Orakzai district on the reported presence of terrorists belonging to the Indian proxy, Fitna al Khwarij.
During the operation, the ISPR said that 19 terrorists were also “sent to hell” after effective engagement by troops.
The ISPR further stated that Maj Tayyab Rahat, 33, and Lt Col Junaid Tariq, 39, both of whom were from Rawalpindi, led their troops from the front and bravely fought before accepting death alongside nine other soldiers.
