DUBAI: After defeating their fierce opponents by six wickets in Sunday’s Asia Cup in Dubai, India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav downplayed the excitement surrounding their cricket rivalry.
In the Super Four match, India again refused to shake hands with their opponents as they chased down a target of 172 in 18.5 overs, helped along by a scorching 74 from opener Abhishek Sharma.
A week after their match in the group stage, it was India’s second victory over Pakistan in the T20I tournament. Additionally, it was their 12th T20I international in 15 games.
Suryakumar responded, “You guys should stop asking questions about the rivalry between India and Pakistan,” when asked if this domination indicated that the rivalry was dwindling.
