At approximately 9 p.m. on April 27, Jack Trainner was discovered on Brookfield Road in Port Glasgow with severe injuries.
Upon arrival of emergency personnel, he was declared deceased on the spot.
At the start of the week, Police Scotland released a new appeal, pleading with anyone with information to come forward.
The police provided an update on Wednesday, stating that a male, age 23, had been taken into custody and charged with the murder of Mr. Trainner.
On Thursday, the suspect is scheduled to appear in Greenock Sheriff Court.
