Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F), announced on Wednesday that his organization has chosen to boycott the by-elections and will begin protesting in several locations on April 25.
“We decided not to recognise the results February 8 elections and reject them, because this parliament is less representative of the people and more representative of the establishment,” the JUI-F stated in a video statement.
Major political groups, such as Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and JUI-F, rejected the elections on February 8 on the grounds that the results were manipulated to benefit the incumbent administration.
According to Fazl, his party needs to inspire confidence in the country in order for people to band together in support of their right to vote and cast ballots.
He continued by saying that they are speaking with other parties about this as well.

According to Fazl, the Awami Assembly would be held in Peshawar on May 9 and in Karachi on May 2. The JUI-F would then choose a date for Lahore, he continued.
Fazl bemoaned, “The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has remained powerless and did not have the permission to compile a single result,” and said that meddling was being done in civil bureaucracy-related topics.
