The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) announced on Friday that Karachi will continue to experience extremely hot and humid weather for the next 24 hours due to a heatwave that is affecting the city.
The Met Office predicts that today’s maximum temperature will be between 40°C and 42°C. There is now 75% humidity in the air.
The PMD reported that the port city will experience a heatwave through June 1 (tomorrow), with gusts gusting up to 18 km/h from the west.
Furthermore, the met department reported that the city’s lowest recorded temperature for the past 24 hours is 29°C.
A day after the port city experienced flooding, the temperature on Thursday shot up to 39.5°C and 63% humidity.
It is important to remember that on May 9, 1938, Karachi achieved the hottest temperature ever, which was 48°C.
Regarding the likelihood of exceptionally hot and muggy weather in the country’s southern regions during the next two days, the PMD issued a warning. It also mentioned that much of the nation is experiencing continental air.
