Orlando Bloom’s girlfriend recently announced that she will be stepping down as a judge on American Idol soon.
On the most recent episode of the Tonight Show, Katy told Jimmy Kimmel, “I love Idol so much, it’s connected me with the heart of America.”
Nonetheless, she admits, “But I feel like I need to go out to feel that pulse of my own beat.”
When the host questioned Katy if her co-stars Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie were aware of her decision, she denied it.
“They’ll find out tonight,” the 39-year-old popstar said.

An informant told Life & Style that the pair seemed to be leading different lifestyles.
“Katy is happy filming American Idol or promoting her shoe line,” the person said.
“While Orlando would rather be jumping out of an airplane or off a mountain,” the insider added before signing off.
