SIALKOT: On Tuesday, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif chose to cool off by swimming in the Motra Canal in Sialkot, Punjab, as the country’s heatwave continued.
The defence minister was spotted jumping in the canal while his son Asad Khawaja was around, enjoying themselves.
Upon spotting Asif taking a bath in the canal, the crowd rushed around him to snap images and videos. He was shown in the videos sporting a loose-fitting t-shirt.
People in several parts of Pakistan, particularly Punjab, are experiencing extreme heat, and they are coming up with creative ways to stay cool.
Nonetheless, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasted last week that there will be sporadic showers throughout Pakistan today.
Moist currents from the Arabian Sea are predicted to reach the country’s center and upper regions, according to the Met Office.
“A Shallow westerly wave is also likely to approach western parts of the country on June 18,” the warning stated.
Punjab’s Islamabad, Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Bhakkar, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Okara, Kasur, Nankana Sahib, Lahore, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Wazirabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, and other regions are expected to see similar weather.
