Defense Minister Khawaja Asif stated that it was becoming more and more obvious every day that former prime minister Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), would be subject to a military trial.
Speaking to a private news channel on Saturday, Asif stated, “Evidence against founder PTI points towards military trial,” adding that military trials have happened in the past and will happen again in the future.
The defense minister made these comments after Khan filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to prevent his possible trial in military courts, fearing a military trial for his alleged role in the May 9 protests that saw military sites targeted last year.
