According to the police, Ralph Hendry and Kathy Brandel were most likely thrown overboard by the hijackers while they were traveling from Grenada to St. Vincent.
According to Police Commissioner Don McKenzie, the inmates had broken out of imprisonment on the Caribbean island of Grenada on February 18 and had taken over a catamaran named Simplicity, which was carrying Kathy Brandel and Ralph Hendry, the following day.
Commissioner McKenzie stated, “Information suggests that they disposed of the occupants while traveling between Grenada and St Vincent.”
The couple vanished from sight the night the inmates fled, and their boat was later seen sailing out of Grenada at an oddly high speed late at night.
He claimed that the three fugitives were apprehended by St. Vincent and the Grenadines police on Wednesday and that a Grenadan team had been sent to assist in “having a complete and thorough investigation of the matters at hand”.
There are roughly 85 nautical miles separating the island nations.
