Mehmood stressed during a committee meeting that the low-grade oil being refined poses a health risk to the public and that five refineries need to sign agreements conforming to international standards by October 22.
High-ranking representatives of Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) and the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), who were purportedly in London for discussions over the Reko Diq Project, were also discussed.
Momin Agha, the secretary of petroleum, explained that important talks were held during the London visit, and that Musadik Malik, the petroleum minister, was present at Russia Energy Week.
Additionally, DG Oil reminded the committee that the local refineries already adhere to Euro 2 requirements, and MD PSO promoted the preservation of a 3 percent guarantee return for the refineries.
