Less than twenty-four hours after defeating Edmonton, Matthew Tkachuk, Aaron Ekblad, and numerous other players were sighted in Fort Lauderdale celebrating the team’s success. The squad lost no time in parading Lord Stanley’s Cup around South Florida.
Taking the Cup to the beach is the perfect way to celebrate, especially considering it’s summer in Florida.
Surrounded by teammates and supporters, Tkachuk opted to take the Cup into the Atlantic Ocean at the beach across the street.
Consider it the Panthers franchise’s baptism by the Cup, since it’s happening for the first time ever.
After the triumph, Tkachuk told newswoman Emily Kaplan that taking home the Cup was now a reality rather than a pipe dream. And it took the Panthers two exhausting years to eventually win that first trophy in the team building after they were defeated in five games by the Vegas Golden Knights in the Final last season.
This party, then, is the fruition of many hours of labor, and the Panthers are obviously having fun now that their names will be inscribed on the priceless metal forever.
