Following the latter’s significant change in his position on the coalition government amid parliamentary collaboration with the erstwhile ruling party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday chastised Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of the JUI-F, for “legitimizing” the existing regime.
“We never needed [Maulana Fazl] support, neither in the past nor today.” Spokesman for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif stated during an appearance on the news show “Naya Pakistan.”
Following his accusation that the PML-N-led coalition government was formed through “rigged” general elections on February 8, Maulana Fazl, the head of JUI-F, appeared to tone down his criticism of the PTI leader.
During his speech in the National Assembly on Wednesday, the leader of JUI-F discussed the purported manipulation of the election results, questioning whether the current parliament was a result of it.
