According to a Public Accounts Committee report, Ofcom will not be able to respond to specific complaints from users or let them know whether any action has been done.
The public may feel “disappointed” in the new online system because of how the regulator, Ofcom, will be able to handle complaints, according to the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament.

The Online Safety Act, which was passed by lawmakers last year, mandates that online service providers reduce the amount of hazardous and illegal content available.
The PAC emphasized in its report today that the new rules’ full implementation had been postponed by a year.
The study also made clear that Ofcom will only be able to intervene in cases where there are “systematic concerns” regarding the provider, and that it will not be able to respond to individual complaints.
