In a thorough study on the damage caused by the recent floods, the district administration of Lahore confirmed that dozens of villages and over 82,000 people were affected throughout the city’s five tehsils.
Affected villages and populations
The report states that 26 villages across five Lahore tehsils were impacted. These consist of:
City: four villages
Ravi: Nine villages
Iqbal Allama: Five villages
Raiwind: seven settlements
Wagah: 1 village
In total, 82,952 people were affected by the flooding across these areas.
Evacuations and relief efforts
The district administration reported that 7,888 people were provided transport facilities to move to safe locations. Meanwhile, 36,658 people trapped in floodwaters were successfully evacuated and shifted to safer places.
