In a media interview, Mohsin Naqvi stated that he was in communication with past cricket players and that they would determine Babar Azam’s captaincy going forward.
“No decision taken so far related to Babar Azam,” stated the PCB president, who also mentioned that he is consulting with past cricket players to find ways to advance the sport in Pakistan.
Naqvi went on, “I’m only talking to former cricket players who are interested in improving Pakistani cricket.”
Babar Azam, the captain of Pakistan’s whit-ball team, faced harsh criticism after his country was eliminated in the group stage of the T20 World Cup in 2024.
The Men in Green lost their first game shockingly to the United States of America (USA), and then they lost their second devastating game against India.
Despite winning their matches against Canada and Ireland, Babar Azam’s team was unable to move on to the Super 8 round of the competition.
Naqvi informed the media that Pakistan cricket will alter after receiving Gary Kirsten’s report.
