The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Pakistan have started technical-level discussions, with the government’s economic team exchanging preliminary data.
Under the direction of the head of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the talks centered on the status of revenue collection and methods for resolving potential deficiencies.

The FBR team provided the IMF mission with an update on tax revenue performance for the current fiscal year during the meeting. Sources claim that a thorough briefing was provided regarding the first quarter’s potential tax shortfall as well as the progress made toward revenue targets.
