Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, has stated that his government is striving to carry out the requirements set forth by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in order to finish the $7 billion loan program, which he hopes will be the nation’s final one.
In July, Pakistan and the IMF came to an agreement on a 37-month financing arrangement. According to the IMF, getting “timely confirmation of necessary financing assurances from Pakistan’s development and bilateral partners” and the executive board’s approval were the only requirements for the program.
“We will enter a new phase once the IMF board approves the program,” the prime minister stated, as reported by Reuters on Tuesday. “We are working on implementing all conditions for the IMF program.”
