Rain is expected to fall on the entire state of Punjab starting today and lasting till July 1, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
The PDMA has released a warning informing the public and authorities to take the appropriate safety measures due to the forecasted weather.
A number of important cities, including Rawalpindi, Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala, and Narowal, are at risk of urban floods, according to the PDMA. In addition, strong storms and sporadic hail are predicted to impact several regions throughout the province, creating more difficulties for locals and infrastructure.
A notable rise in solar panel installations has also been seen by the PDMA, which has recommended taking precautions to shield solar plates from strong storms.
In addition, the PDMA has issued a warning against crossing canals and rivers when it’s raining or flooding. The PDMA director general has stressed the stringent enforcement of rules that forbid bathing in rivers and canals during this time in order to maintain public safety.
