The general council meeting of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has been postponed for May 28 in honor of “Youm-e-Takbeer,” which marks the anniversary of Pakistan’s nuclear testing in 1998.
Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb said in a statement that the party’s general council meeting will take place on May 28 to commemorate the 26th anniversary of nuclear tests, after consulting with PML-N leaders.
It is expected that significant changes pertaining to the party leadership would be authorized at the meeting, which was originally slated for May 11.
Ahsan Iqbal, the present secretary general of the PML-N, is expected to be replaced by former railway minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, according to a story published by Geo News last week, which cited sources.
