According to Wion, a husky named Kobe was praised as a hero for preventing an explosion caused by a gas leak from happening in his neighborhood.
On Instagram, Chanell Bell, Kobe’s owner, posted a video showing the dog excavating a hole in her front yard.
“The Dog that saved the block before Christmas,” Bell captioned a picture she posted to Instagram.
Bell was taken aback by the dog’s behavior and thought, “This is not like him.”
The pet parent said, “I had a reader in the house already to make sure no leaks were coming from my old heater.” “After noticing the hole, I realized that my dog was acting strangely. I felt compelled to check it out.”
Not finding anything strange inside, Bell discovered the gas leak at the same location where the dog was digging.
Bell quickly alerted the police to the problem after the equipment picked up gas emanating from the hole the husky had dug.
To solve the issue and determine the extent of the potentially dangerous leak, a gas foreman and crew were dispatched.
After that, workers fixed the leak and stated that even flipping on a light switch may have endangered Bell’s life and the safety of her home if Kobe hadn’t seen it.
As they were fixing, the team found three major gas leaks in Bell’s neighborhood that were brought on by aging pipes. Three days were needed for the installation of new pipes and leak repairs.
