Multan Sultans defeated Lahore Qalandars in the seventh match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine on Wednesday at the Multan Cricket Stadium, thanks to Mohammad Rizwan’s responsible 82 runs off 59 balls and Iftikhar Ahmed’s sloggers in the dying overs.
Mohammad Rizwan’s side has three wins in the competition, while Qalandars has three losses.
Iftikhar Ahmed scored 24 runs in the 19th over to complete the chase of 167 in 19 overs. The 33-year-old was not out at 34 off 11 deliveries.
Mohammad Rizwan’s chase featured both brilliance and problems. Rizwan delivered an anchoring performance, scoring 82 runs off 59 balls.
The team suffered an early setback as Dawid Malan was ruled LBW off Zaman Khan’s delivery without contributing any runs to the scoreboard. Reeza Hendricks followed suit, contributing just 9 runs before being caught by Fakhar Zaman off Shaheen Afridi’s bowling.
