The central media department of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) stated Thursday via a statement that the official timetable for the party’s intra-party elections, scheduled to take place on February 5 (Monday), has been released.
Raoof Hasan, the party’s spokesperson, has been named the commissioner of federal elections.
“The PTI Federal Election Commission is pleased to announce the Election Schedule for the Intra-party Elections (IPE) of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to elect the Chairman, Central and Provincial Organisations,” the announcement continued.
In accordance with a PTI announcement, all party members who registered by January 31st would be able to cast ballots at specific sites around Pakistan for the chairman or panel candidate of their choice. The ‘Raabta Application Intra Party Election Module’ allows party members to register their votes as well.
The Election Rules, 2020, which can be seen on the party’s official website and the Raabta application, include information about each panel taking part in the intra-party election as well as the specifics of the election’s process.
Polling places and the date of the appellate tribunal will be revealed on February 1, 2024. Polling hours will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Nomination papers for prospective candidates can be received from the PTI central secretariat or website between February 1 and 2, 2024, the party declared.
Nomination papers must be submitted by 10 p.m. on February 2, 2024, the deadline. Nomination papers may be turned in electronically via email or at the central and provincial secretariats.
On February 3, 2024, the nomination papers of candidates running for intra-party office will be examined. If the papers are rejected, objections can be submitted until 10 p.m. on February 3, 2024.
On February 4 at 4 PM, the websites will list all of the final panels taking part in the intra-party election.
On Tuesday, February 6, 2024, the results of the intra-party election will be formally declared.
