Rana Sanaullah, a senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), stated on Sunday that the participation in today’s by-elections is a “big message” for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Speaking on the Geo News show Naya Pakistan, Sanaullah asserted that “PTI voters have not come out today [during the by-elections].” He added that his party was happy with the polling results and has always respected the election results.
He was of the opinion that the Nawaz Sharif-led party used to voice concerns about the election results “within the system,” but Imran Khan, the founder of the PTI, always attempted to “bulldoze” the current system. He called on political parties to use appropriate forums for addressing the complaints related to the election.
The prominent member of the PML-N stated that voter turnout is often low in response to today’s election.
He was pleased with the by-elections and reported that Form 45 was being issued and results were coming in from every polling place.
If there was any misconduct on election day, Sanaullah promised to file complaints.
