By September 2024, Pakistan Railways intends to add first-rate eating facilities to the Allama Iqbal Express passenger train, enabling passengers to enjoy freshly prepared food while traveling.
An official from the Ministry of Railways told APP that “passengers in this news service would enjoy a better environment with enhanced dining facilities as around 40 passengers could take food in the upgraded dining car at a time.”
He claimed that the premium lounge dining carriages have already been effectively introduced by Pakistan Railways in the Khyber Mail, Tezgam Express, and Bahauddin Zakariya trains.
According to the source, Pakistan Railways recently installed a dining section on the Khyber Mail train, which travels between Karachi and Lahore. It can accommodate up to 34 passengers at once and has a dedicated space.”The department is making every effort to enhance the services within the constraints of its restricted resources. Pakistan Railways has also made the decision to enhance the services linked to cleanliness and passengers’ rest and sleeping, in addition to introducing the contemporary dining car facility,” he continued.
