Since Tuesday night, Azad Kashmir, comprising Neelum Valley, Lipa Valley, and Jhelum Valley, has been battered by heavy rains, resulting in significant disruptions.
According to local authorities, a number of communication routes have been stopped, and phone and energy services have been negatively impacted in numerous locations.
In addition to increasing river and stream flow, the downpour sparked worries about possible floods. Similar interruptions caused by the severe rain have also been reported in other districts, including Bagh, Poonch, and Haveli Sudhnoti.
Rain is expected to continue intermittently throughout the region until August 31 according to the Meteorological Department’s forecast. Because of the increased potential of landslides and road closures, the administration has encouraged travelers and visitors to avoid making needless trips in hilly areas.
