equestrianSpringsteen was not included in the USA Equestrian jumping squad that was unveiled on Saturday afternoon for the Olympics in Paris.
As an alternative, Karl Cook rode in place of the team’s seasoned riders, McLain Ward, Laura Kraut, and Kent Farrington.
At the Toyko Olympics, Springsteen, 32, accompanied Kraut and Ward in winning a silver medal, which was their fourth Olympic medal in the previous five years. Don Juan van de Donkhoeve, Springsteen’s 12-year-old stallion, was being ridden.
As one of the ten athletes on the U.S. Jumping Team’s short list for the Olympics in April, she was on track to join the squad this year. In a news statement at the time, U.S. Equestrian stated that those ten athletes would be “selected for continued observation.”

But Springsteen’s standing in the rankings wasn’t the same as it was three years prior.
On the official website of the International Federation of Equestrian Sports, Springsteen is listed as 127th in the world, down from 14th in 2021.
