Ross Davidson (also known as Ross Wild) has been convicted of rape and attempted rape. He was also found guilty for sexual assault. Formerly of 80s group Spandau Ballet and the West End musical We Will Rock You, the 37-year old also performed in this West End production.
Davidson from Finchley in north London denied assaulting a female in London in 2015, and another in Thailand in 2019. After more than eleven hours of deliberation at Wood Green Crown Court, the jury convicted Davidson on all counts.
Information on Victims of Crime and the Trial
During trial, Richard Hearnden stated that Davidson had once been viewed as “a little bit of a sex icon”. His victims, however, revealed a “much darker side” which was initially hidden.
Davidson called himself “sex-positive”, claiming that this means having an open dialogue and being open about people’s sexual preference.
Prior Offences
Davidson confessed to filming a Thai woman while she slept in secret. The video was made “for sexual pleasure, selfish motives” by Davidson. He expressed his regret during trial. The victim was shown “asleep and still, unresponsive”, and partly undressed.
The Legal Process Continues
