The 28-year-old has been concentrating on his recuperation to the point where he canceled a planned press conference prior to the Switzerland match because he didn’t want to talk to the media before returning to the field.
He described his experience at Euro 2024 as “strange.” It has also been challenging to attend games and get in the mood. It was difficult to not wear the shirt or play games, but that gave me even more motivation to go back to work.
“I was motivated to play those games by the atmosphere.
Naturally, I was eager to return, but my main goal was to assist us in winning the game again.”
England has not always performed well at Euro 2024 without Shaw; they have drawn their last two group games and lost their first two elimination matchups.
However, they have survived thanks to outstanding equalizers by Jude Bellingham against Slovakia and Bukayo Saka against Switzerland.
