With wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock coming out of his ODI retirement to participate in the white-ball series, Cricket South Africa announced their squads for the forthcoming tour of Pakistan on Monday.
Due to a calf strain, Test captain Temba Bavuma, who helped South Africa win the World Test Championship, will not be participating in the tour. Aiden Markram will captain the team in Bavuma’s place during the Test series, which starts on October 12.
David Miller and Matthew Breetzke have been selected as the ODI and T20I captains, respectively.
De Kock, who last played for South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2024 final, came out of retirement after having retired from ODIs following the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
