ISLAMABAD: The decision over whether to return the Toshakhana reference against President Asif Ali Zardari, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, and Senate Chairman Yusuf Raza Gilani to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was deferred by an accountability court in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Judge Abida Sajjad of the accountability court heard the anti-graft body’s plea involving the former prime ministers and the current head of state, and she deferred the decision, which is scheduled to be made public on October 14.
The matter is related to the 2020 NAB reference against the three parties, in which it is claimed that Gilani enabled President Zardari and former PM Nawaz to purchase cars from Toshakana for 15% of the purchase price.
