Amidst his loved ones, Aprea “died of natural causes” on Monday, August 5, in Los Angeles, as his manager Will Levine revealed to News .
“Mr. Aprea’s passing saddens me greatly,” Levine said to News. “His friends adored him, and he was a very gifted performer. Among the most refined men I’ve ever met.”
Aprea’s first break in the business came from the 1968 Steve McQueen classic San Francisco police thriller “Bullitt.” Aprea was born in Englewood, New Jersey, in 1941 to Italian immigrants.
After that, he portrayed a young Tessio in “The Godfather Part II.” After being cast for the part, Aprea supposedly called Abe Vigoda, who portrayed the part in Part I, to inquire about the character.
