The Met Office predicts rain for today in Punjab’s KP and Pothohar.

According to a weather forecast released by the Met Department, there will be prolonged periods of intense heat in the southern regions of the country. Meanwhile, there will be rainfall in some areas of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pothohar, and northeast Punjab.

The department predicts that a strong heatwave would continue to affect much of Balochistan, Sindh, and the southern portions of Punjab. It is recommended that residents stay hydrated and take the appropriate precautions to prevent heat-related ailments.

In contrast, there’s a chance of rain in several areas of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Rainfall is expected in Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Swat, Chitral, Dir, Abbottabad, Haripur, and Mansehra, according to the department’s forecast. It is anticipated that this rainfall would provide these areas some brief respite from the current heat wave.

The weather in Islamabad, the nation’s capital, is predicted to be hot throughout the day and partly cloudy in the evening.

The weather in most of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is predicted to remain extremely hot, adding to the discomfort of the ongoing heatwave. The Met Office advises people to seek out cooler places for refuge during the hottest parts of the day and to stay indoors.

A serious warning for the month of June was released by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Thursday, alerting residents of Sindh and Punjab to an impending intense heatwave.
