On the chief justice’s direction of the Lahore High Court (LHC), the Punjab government has announced the appointment of judges to the special courts located around the province.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz of Punjab presided over a cabinet meeting that approved the appointment of judges to nine special courts.
Six anti-terrorism special courts, two anti-corruption courts, and one each for Punjab’s service tribunal and consumer courts have appointed judges, per a notification.
The advocate general will deliver the notification to Chief Justice Shehzad Ahmed Khan of the LHC.
Lahore 1 and Lahore 2 anti-terrorism courts have appointed Judges Khalid Arshad and Imran Haider, respectively.
The anti-terrorism court in Sargodha has selected Judge Muhammad Abbas as its new member. The Sahiwal anti-terrorism court has chosen Ziaullah Khan as its member.
