Microsoft, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman have all indicated an emphasis on safety concerns while creating cutting-edge AI models to make sure they are in line with helping mankind.
These comments coincide with warnings from AI experts that if the technology advances to the point where a self-improving superintelligence becomes uncontrollable, it may wipe out mankind within the next ten years.
The fierce rivalry in the AI sector to provide increasingly proficient models is another factor contributing to worries about AI going wild.

AI Regulation Could Stifle Innovation
“I do think there’s a risk that if regulation is too far-reaching, it will stifle innovation and the up-and-coming OpenAIs or up-and-coming Anthropics,” Nancy Tengler, CEO and chief investment officer of Laffer Tengler Investments.
“I don’t think Congress is going to be able to regulate AI, at least not now,” Tengler continued. “I believe it’s beyond their capabilities,” he said, adding that IT firms have demanded regulation.
AI Regulation Could Hurt U.S. Competition
The American Institute for Economic Research’s senior research fellow in law and economics, Julia Cartwright, “this is a classic case of regulatory capture by the folks at the top.
“Top businesses have a history of siding with Washington and attempting to enact laws because they make their market more predictable.
Cartwright said that the AI regulatory discussion posed a “collective action dilemma” since “even.
Microsoft Unveils New AI Conduct Code
This week, Microsoft released a draft of its “Humanist AI Code of Conduct,” which will serve as a guide for the creation and supervision of Microsoft AI models until the final version is released later this year.
The business stated the code of conduct is “motivated by a single overriding objective: that humans must retain meaningful control over AI so that it can help people live healthier, happier, and more productive lives.”
“Containing, controlling, and aligning such a powerful force is one of the greatest challenges,” it said in reference to the development of AI superintelligence.
Microsoft Unveils New AI Conduct Code
Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, has urged industry leaders to “pace the frontier” of AI development. In order to confirm adherence to the company’s safety procedures, report on events, and evaluate the alignment of models during training, he continued, the organization intends to grant third-party evaluators employee-level access to the company’s systems.
In a post on X, Altman expressed his opinion that the strategy “is a great idea, and we will do the same [at OpenAI].”
