The military’s propaganda wing announced on Wednesday that security forces had killed two terrorists in the South Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during an intelligence-based operation.
According to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), “security forces conducted an intelligence based operation in South Waziristan District on 09 April 24.”
Two terrorists were effectively neutralized and “sent to hell” during the operation, according to the ISPR, after a fierce gunfight.
The terrorists who were slain also had weapons and a significant amount of explosives found on them; these individuals were still actively engaged in a number of terrorist attacks in the region, the statement continued.
“As Pakistani security forces are committed to eradicating the threat of terrorism, a sanitization operation is being carried out to eradicate any additional terrorists discovered in the area.”
According to the military’s media wing, two terrorists were killed by security forces on Sunday during a gunfight that occurred between the terrorists and security forces in North Waziristan on the evening of April 6 and 7.
Similarly, the ISPR stated in a statement on April 6 that security forces had eliminated 10 terrorists in two distinct intelligence-base operations in Balochistan’s Panjgur area and KP’s Dera Ismail Khan.
According to a The News article, in the first quarter (Q1) of 2024, 86% of attacks (including acts of terrorism and security forces operations) and over 92% of all fatalities occurred in the provinces of KP and Balochistan.
These were the main conclusions of the Center for Research and Security Studies’ Q1 2024 Security Report (CRSS). Pakistan
