As part of an investigation into a ransomware assault against Collins Aerospace, owned by RTX, which took airport check-in systems offline and caused significant travel disruption around Europe, British police announced on Wednesday that a man had been apprehended.
The man, who is in his 40s, was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of violating the Computer Misuse Act and was later released on conditional bail, according to a statement from the National Crime Agency.
NCA Deputy Director Paul Foster stated, “Although this arrest is a positive step, the investigation into this incident is in its early stages and remains ongoing.”
The identity of the criminal organization responsible for the hack last week was still unknown. A representative at the NCA declined to elaborate.
