A dry and sunny day is expected for England and Wales on July 19, which could surpass this year’s record high temperature of 31.9C (89.4F) at St. James’s Park in downtown London.
Large portions of the UK will experience an increase in temperature in the middle of the week, according to chief meteorologist Frank Saunders of the Met Office.
“Temperatures are likely to peak at around 32C in southeast England on Tuesday and Wednesday, with much of the UK experiencing dry, fine and warm conditions in the first half of the week,” he stated.
On Wednesday, the high temperatures will persist, but there’s a potential of summer thunderstorms in the southern regions.
Thursday can turn out to be a more erratic day with occasional really powerful thunderstorms. Rain is expected on Friday and it will travel west, according to the Met Office.
With the exception of the North East and North West, the whole of England is under a yellow heat health warning until Friday, according to the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA).
