West Ham is very close to acquiring 18-year-old Brazilian midfielder Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras for 30 million euros (£25.5 million).
Tim Steidten, the director of football for the Hammers, has been in Brazil attempting to strengthen the team under new manager Julen Lopetegui.
Sources have told Sport that the attempt to sign Guilherme is almost complete, despite rumors to the contrary.
It would be West Ham’s first acquisition since Steidten assumed charge of the team’s transfer negotiations and Lopetegui succeeded David Moyes at the end of the season.
In 2023, Guilherme made his Palmeiras debut at the age of 17. He also represented the team in the Copa Libertadores group stage this year.
West Ham is nearing £25 million. Guilherme is a youngster from Brazil.
