In addition to making two personnel changes, head coach Warren Gatland also changed two positions from the team that lost the opening Test in Sydney, 25-16.
Complete-back Liam Williams moves to the wing, and Taine Plumtree, a flanker, takes up position eight.
Botham comes into the back row at blind-side flanker, with Cardiff number eight Mackenzie Martin promoted to the replacements bench.
Williams and the headless prop After hobbling off last weekend, Gareth Thomas is back, but lock Ben Carter and tight-head prop Dillon Lewis are still absent.
At fly-half, Ben Thomas continues to start, with Sam Costelow serving as backup once more.

“It is disappointing for him and us, he was outstanding last week,” Gatland added.
“I’ve been working hard on something I believed he had another dimension to him in recent months.
“As a player, he would show off some pretty nice touches, yet he might occasionally miss games.
“You’ve seen in the last couple of games that there’s been a real step-up in terms of his performances.”
Botham will wear the number six shirt, while Plumtree’s only appearance at number eight this season came for Wales against England at Twickenham in August 2023 during a World Cup warm-up.
