RAWALPINDI: According to a statement released on Monday by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), at least 11 terrorists were slain in two distinct operations that took place in North Waziristan and Dera Ismail Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in the DI Khan sanctuary based on the reported presence of terrorists, according to a communiqué from the military’s media wing.
“During the conduct of the operation, after an intense fire exchange, 10 terrorists were successfully neutralised and sent to hell,” according to the ISPR.
It further stated that the terrorists who were slain continued to actively participate in a number of terrorist attacks in the region, targeting both security personnel and defenseless civilians.
“Arms and ammunition were also recovered from them,” it stated.
The ISPR further stated that in a different operation, the security forces shot and killed a terrorist in North Waziristan.
The security forces’ efforts were valued by the locals, who are committed to eradicating terrorism as a threat from the nation.
Seven terrorists were slain by security forces last week while attempting to cross the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan in the approximate vicinity of Spinkai, Ghulam Khan, North Waziristan district.
Security personnel in the general region of Spinkai, Ghulam Khan, North Waziristan district, noticed the movement of a group of seven terrorists who were attempting to infiltrate the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan, according to the ISPR.
